The official website of Jujutsu Kaisen launched a new special promotional video on Thursday, December 28, 2023, following the broadcast of the season 2 finale. The video announced the creation of the anime’s sequel season. The Culling Game arc will be adapted for the anime’s upcoming season.
The second season of Jujutsu Kaisen adapted two storylines: the Shibuya Incident Arc and the Premature Death/Hidden Inventory Arc. The anime debuted with the first arc during the Summer 2023 season, and then it had a little break before releasing the second arc.

The special promotional video for the next Culling Game Arc was published by the anime’s official website and X account on Thursday, December 28, following the conclusion of the Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 finale.
Animated images from the future arc were included in the special PV. This gave viewers a general idea of what to expect from the planned anime. The story will follow the Jujutsu High students as they participate in Psuedo Geto/Noritoshi Kamo’s unprecedented Jujutsu battle royal, known as the Culling Game.
Will Jujutsu Kaisen season 3 only adapt the Culling Game Arc?
There are two more manga arcs in the series between the Shibuya Incident Arc and the Culling Game Arc, for fans who are unaware of them. The second-season finale of Jujutsu Kaisen concludes where the Shibuya Incident Arc left off. Therefore, it is assured that before adapting the Culling Game Arc, MAPPA will adapt Itadori’s Extermination Arc and Perfect Preparation Arc.
Itadori’s Extermination Arc and Perfect Preparation Arc are two very short story arcs, which is why the next anime was revealed to be an adaptation of Culling Game Arc. Together, the two arcs only have 22 chapters. The Culling Game Arc, on the other hand, has 63 chapters. Given that 73 chapters were adapted for the anime’s second season, MAPPA could easily animate Jujutsu Kaisen’s third season, which has 85 chapters.
