Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 promises to break your heart every step of the way over the next season. Get ready to say goodbye to some beloved characters, some characters that you’ve been waiting to kill off, and just in general death at every corner.

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 spoilers ahead!

Jujutsu Kaisen is home to some beloved anime characters who transcend the show and become celebrities in their own right. But for every Nanami, Toji, and Gojo there are a plethora of other characters that the general audience does not particularly enjoy. But by the universal rules of anime, deaths are not always fair. And season 3 of the series is no different. From beloved characters biting the dust to the most unexpected deaths in the entire franchise.

The third season of the show follows a very important part of the Jujutsu Kaisen lore i.e. The Shibuya Incident Arc. The Shibuya Incident arc is the sixth arc in the series and follows all the events that took place at the Shibuya Incident. The arc follows an alliance between the cursed spirits and curses users forged by Mahito and Pseudo-Gate as they finally make their move in order to seal Satoru Gojo. With Satoru Gojo on the line, you can be assured that this arc will definitely be unforgiving with chaos and deaths galore.

The arc opens with a series of investigations built around a mole at Kyoto Jujutsu High and ends with the death of a beloved character that no one saw coming! Here are all the character deaths and how they die after this arc.

Dhruv Lakdawalla

Dhruv dies during the Culling Games portion of the Shibuya incident arc. By 2018, Dhruv managed to gain 91 points however his most difficult opponent is Kurourushi. Dhruv however meets his demise at the hands of Yuta Okkotsu in the city of Sendai.

Jujutsu Kaisen

Ryu Ishigori

From his pompadour hair to his fur coat, Ryu Ishigori has made a name for himself as a pompous hotshot and sometimes douchebag character of the Jujutsu Kaisen universe. Nevertheless, Ryu is powerful. With abilities like expert hand-to-hand combat and more, it makes it even more surprising how this pompous character meets his end. Alas, he meets his end at the hands of Sukana.

Jujutsu Kaisen

Chizuru Hari

Chizuru Hari is a character that aligns himself with Reggie Star however being in this alignment possibly leads to his downfall. Chizuru Hari meets his death at the hands of Megumi who slashes him across the face and effectively kills him.

Jujutsu Kaisen

Reggie Star

Another overpowered character in the Jujutsu Kaisen universe, Reggie Star is a sorcerer with powers beyond human comprehension which again makes his death super surprising. If there’s one thing that we can learn from anime, you should never overestimate the overpowered ones. Because eventually, they will fall. Reggie meets his death at the hands of Megumi who plays his trump card, nullifying Contractual-Recreation, and beating him in a physical fight.

Jujutsu Kaisen

Tsumiki Fushiguro

Tsumiki is one of the many characters in the Jujutsu Kaisen universe that has reached waifu status. All those, holding her dear to her heart are now in mourning considering she meets her end. While Megumi manages to pile the bodies in this season of Jujutsu Kaisen, getting possessed eventually leads to the death of his sister.

While being ill, Tsumiki’s brother begins looking for a cure. But with Kenjaku placing a seal on her soul, his remote Idle Transfiguration techniques bring back Yorozo, who reincarnates into Tsumiki. She meets her death at the hands of Sukana as he possesses Megumi’s body and uses his cursed technique to kill her.

Jujutsu Kaisen

Yuki Tsukumo

Another beloved waifu of the Jujustu Kaisen universe bites the dust. Maybe picking a waifu from the Jujustu Kaisen universe is a risky choice. Considering death is lurking behind every character.

Yuki Tsukumo is one of the four Special-grade sorcerers. Unfortunately, her high status does not help her in her death as she meets her end at the hands of Kenjaku. Kenjaku used a mini Uzumaki to slice her open in the torso while she was busy using the Star Rage.

Jujustu Kaisen

Naoya Zen’in

The first of many in the Zen’in family to meet their ends. Naoya Zen’in has garnered a reputation for being an absolutely vile and disgusting character in the Jujutsu Kaisen universe. He succeeded his father Naobita and became the head of the Zen’in clan. He is one of many who faced their deaths at the hands of Maki Zen’in who swore to eradicate every member of the Zen’in clan after a very traumatic incident (which you’ll see soon).

Fans aren’t really mourning the death of this character as Naoya gained the reputation through sheer arrogance, pride, and inability to care for anyone.

Jujutsu Kaisen

Masamichi Yaga

And who said Legends never die, well physically at least?

Masamichi Yaga is the principal of Tokyo Jujutsu High teaching some important characters in the Jujutsu Kaisen universe including Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto. Masamichi Yaga is scapegoated and held responsible for the Shibuya Incident as the Higher-Ups conclude that the entire Incident was Geto and Gojo’s doing. However, the ulterior motive is that the Higher-Ups wanted his Cursed Corpse Technique. Luckily, he takes it to the grave (literally). He was eventually killed by the Principal Gakukanji.

Jujutsu Kaisen

Mai Zen’in

And now, the most heartbreaking death in the entirety of the Jujustu Kaisen franchise. And that honor goes to the beloved character, Mai Zen’in.

While no one wants Mai to meet her end in Season 3, her death seems to be the one fans are bracing themselves for the most. Whether it’s how she dies or what happens afterward. Mai meets her end while sacrificing herself for her twin sister Maki Zen’in. She is brutally beaten by her father to the verge of death. But due to Mai having cursed energy, Maki is not able to save her. But all is not lost once she dies as Maki becomes stronger and begins her mission to wipe out the Zenin clan.
